ED OUT is an exciting partnership committed to improving the quality and excitement of learning in K-12 education with an outdoor component. ED OUT launched June 4, 2010, in Prince William County (VA) Public Schools (PWCS). A pilot effort teamed classroom teachers with dozens of adjunct faculty for a day of learning and fun at a local recreation site. Our adjunct faculty came from nonprofit organizations, corporations, and government and community agencies, working with teachers to integrate educational topics in science, history, art and more into active outdoor experiences.
